Responsibilities and Authority of the Committee on Ministry:

A.    Perform all the duties specified in (G 11.0502).

B.    Confer regularly with the Committee on Church Development regarding the groupings and/or yoking of churches and regarding ministers whose salaries are supplied in part through that division.  Secure approval for all calls requiring salary assistance from Presbytery from the Committee on Church Development, in accordance with the requirements of (G 11.0502d).

C.    Compile, maintain, and make available to each pastorless church a list of approved ministers, candidates, and elders to serve as temporary supply pastors and a list of approved ministers to serve as stated and interim supply pastors (G-11.0502f).


D.    Prepare and publish, or secure and distribute, a manual for the use of pastor nominating committees of pastorless churches.

E.    Be the agent of Presbytery when churches wish to consult with Presbytery about exemption from the requirement that both men and women be elected as officers and that elders and deacons be elected for limited terms of active service (G-l4.0202)

F.    With authority given by the Presbytery find in order calls of other presbyteries issued by churches, to dissolve the pastoral relationship in cases where the congregation and pastor concur, to grant permission to labor within or outside the bounds of Presbytery, and to dismiss ministers to other presbyteries, with the provision that all such actions be reported to the next stated
meeting of the Presbytery (G.110502h)

G.    Visit regularly and consult with each minister of the Presbytery (G-11.0502a).

H.    Visit with each session of the Presbytery at least triennially (G-11.0502c).
