Position Description
Working with Beth Edwards, bookkeeper, regarding financial record keeping & providing information for committees about funds availability.
What is the best part of your job?

Getting to know the office staff and members of the committees with whom I work. These are the people who make the presbytery click.
What is something many people don't know about your job?

Most people think I do what Beth Edwards is doing - recording financial transactions, writing checks  and preparing financial reports. Most people do not know there is another side of finances as described in the brief job description above.
What profession other than your own would you like to try?

That's an easy one - being a librarian. I have always used and been interested in libraries since I was old enough to read. I served on the Hardy County Library Commission for 24 years!
What profession would you least like to try?

Being the administrator of a program where there are many staff persons does not appeal.  I think I am too much a Pollyanna to cope with all the problems.
What is the last book you read?

"Straight from the Gut" - an autobiography of Jack Welch, the retired CEO of GE. Biography is my favorite reading, even fictional novels such as "Dollye" (about Dollye Madison) and "Those We Love" (about Abigail Adams.)
If you could have dinner with any person, living or dead, whom would you choose?

That's easy, too - my husband. We had 25-1/2 years of a wonderful life together. I liked his kindness, sense of humor, and intellect. And he tolerated me!
How would your friends describe you?

Maybe kinky. It is difficult for most to believe that people actually like to prepare tax returns.  And I trust that some will remember I am still available.
What would you eat for your last meal?

A big glass of orange juice, scrambled eggs, a homemade cinnamon roll, a small pot of coffee.  To make it perfect would be the accompaniment of the morning newspaper.
What is the best advice you have received and who gave it to you?

My father's favorite soapbox oration to his children was "You must give back to the community as much as you received from it." I have tried to fulfill that advice, but sometimes it is difficult as have had a wonderful life. Often I wonder if I have done enough.
When you get to heaven, what would you like God to say?

Thank you for your kindness to family and being kind to others who have not been as fortunate as you.                                                                  TOP
