Where are the Books?
The Metu Youth Library is in need of books - over 20,000
volumes of books.
Thanks
to the support of the Opequon Presbyterian Church congregation, the library
building has been completed and is awaiting the delivery of more books.
A library with books is an opportunity to help with the education of
young people. And it is an opportunity for congregations of Shenandoah Presbytery
to connect with the people of Metu, and especially with the children and
youth. This library is now open to the whole community, and will be the
only "public" library in Metu.
The Ethiopian Partnership Committee is working with Books for Africa to help nurture
a reading culture in Ethiopia. You can help support this vital program for
the Ethiopian children and youth in the following ways.
1) Through Fund raising to lease a shipping container which will
be filled with 20,000 books
2) Through Collection of the books from the "Book List" which
are being requested to fill the shelves.
Fund Raising
