Spiritual Formation
Status: 5-8 hours per week

Job description:
1. Assist Minister with liturgy, music and homiletics in preparing worship
services;
2. Train liturgical assistants
3. Organize and lead alternative prayer services.
4. In cooperation with the Adult Education Committee, develop adult education/formation
programs including book discussions, classes, forums, seminars, workshops
and retreats.
Accountability
To the Session of SPC through the Pastor’s Office.
Qualifications
1. Knowledge of and experience with the Reformed (Presbyterian) tradition
of Christian faith.
2. A degree or certificate from an accredited institution for spirituality,
or its equivalent.
3. Membership in the Presbyterian Spiritual Formation Leadership network
desirable
4. Knowledge of diverse worship music (desirable)
Compensation
1. Moderately negotiable depending on experience and actual hours.
2. Continuing education allowance

Parish Assistant
for Youth

Job title: Parish Assistant for
Youth
Status: Part-time, salary. Independent contractor.
Employer: Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church
Job description (suggestive; not complete):
1. Plan, organize and oversee all aspects of the church’s youth programs
(grades 6-12), including (but not limited to):
a. recreational events such as cross country skiing, rafting,
and back packing, several times a year for the youth (6th-12th grade) of
the church.
b. frequent service projects (locally, regionally, and internationally)
c. at least two retreats annually
2. Teach occasional classes under the direction of the Pastor
3. Recruit and train adult mentors (and other volunteers as needed)
for youth
Desired qualifications:
1. Knowledge of and experience with the Reformed (Presbyterian) tradition
of Christian faith
2. Enrollment in a bachelors degree program or graduation from an accredited
college or the equivalent
3. 3-5 years of volunteer or paid work with youth
4. Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills
5. Second language
6. International travel experience
Compensation
1. Moderately negotiable depending on experience and actual hours.
